What is your intended profession/what’s your major? Public Health and Community Health Education
Why do you want to be a health professional? Why is it important to you? I want to help contribute to the health and well-being of those around me to create a happy and healthy life for everyone! It is important to me because I think everyone deserves the chance to improve their health and have access to health services.
Where is your Community Health Internship Program (CHIP) host site? Ho-Chunk Nation Community Health Department
Why did you want to participate in CHIP? I wanted to gain experience and learn about different aspects that go into serving a community.
What are you most looking forward to/what has been your favorite part so far? My favorite part so far is seeing and hearing the impact the Ho-Chunk Health Department has had on it's community and the different classes and opportunities they offer to improve and care for everyone!
What advice would you give to younger students who are interested in working in public health? I would say to take every opportunity you can to learn more about public health. Everywhere I look I see how something could relate and connect to public health so I think it is important to engage in many aspects of your community to see and experience these things!
