Why do you want to be a health professional? Why is it important to you? I want to improve access to health and wellbeing for communities that need it the most.
Where is your Community Health Internship Program (CHIP) host site? Western Dairyland Head Start What are you doing there? Virtual Health Fair
Why did you want to participate in CHIP? I wanted to participate in CHIP to gain experience in different community settings where health-focused work takes place and to help families from where I grew up.
What's something you hope to learn/have learned that will impact your future work? I have learned about the importance of collaboration between organizations, especially in rural areas.
What are you most looking forward to/what has been your favorite part so far? I am most looking forward to seeing how the community utilizes the project I created.
What advice would you give to younger students who are interested in working in public health? The BEST people work in public health! You will be in great company, and you will learn a lot from people in the field.
