What is your intended profession/what’s your major? Social Work and Spanish


Why do you want to be a health professional? Why is it important to you? I believe it is important for those in underserved or minority groups to be seen, heard, and given the help that they need.


Where is your Community Health Internship Program (CHIP) host site? Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley-Black River Falls site What are you doing there? Youth Development Specialist-I help create programs to help children learn new skills or further develop the skills they already have.


Why did you want to participate in CHIP? I thought that it would be a unique opportunity to explore other aspects of my future career as a social worker.

What's something you hope to learn/have learned that will impact your future work? I hope to learn new ways of communicating with children of all ages and teaching them new skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.


What are you most looking forward to/what has been your favorite part so far? My favorite part has been getting to know the kiddos!


What advice would you give to younger students who are interested in working in public health? Public health is a diverse field of work, and has so many options as far as employment.
