We look to give students as much real-life exposure as we can for each on of our programs. By teaming up with local health organization such as Gundersen for Hands on Health Days, students get to meet with healthcare professionals for individual job shadows.
Students from Aquinas, Bangor, De Soto, La Crescent, La Crosse Central, La Crosse Logan, Onalaska, Westby and West Salem High schools viewed a surgery as it happened, via livestream video. Students were able to interact with the surgeon and staff, and participated in surgery-related simulations including laparoscopic surgery, anesthesiology, pre & post op procedures and suturing at the Integrated Center for Education.
