Pre-health professions students from UW-La Crosse visited Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare-Sparta to learn more about healthcare careers and working in a rural environment.
Presentations about physical therapy, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation, pharmacy, and cardiac pehabilitation provided great information for the students.
Finally, students toured a hospital, clinical lab, and emergency department, which gave participants first hand perspective of the technology, resources, and facilities. The UW-La Crosse career advisers accompanying the group said it was a great learning experience.
