
Statewide, Wisconsin AHEC is participating in a strategic planning process in order to align with the new Health Resources & Services Administration 2017-2022 federal focus areas include diversity, distribution, and practice transformation.
Major areas of emphasis are:
Educational and Training Activities engaging health professions students (undergraduate & graduate level)
AHEC Scholars, a longitudinal, interdisciplinary program
Core topic areas of inter-professional education, behavioral health integration, social determinants of health, cultural competency, practice transformation, and current/emerging health issues
Enhancing strategic partnership to maximize impact and outcomes
Continuing education focused on core topic areas
Pipeline activities supporting recruitment, training, and interactive activities for high school students
Scenic Rivers AHEC is fortunate to have multiple partners and programs already working in these areas. The staff and board of Scenic Rivers AHEC is engaged in planning and transformation of programs and partnerships within their ten county region in order to meet grant guidelines and build on existing collaborations while also seeking new opportunities.
