Each year our regional health career camps provide students with an up-close look into a variety of health careers in rural and underserved areas. We work with healthcare organizations and post-secondary educational institutions, across our service region, to provide students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experiences, job shadow, visit simulation labs, and tour college campuses.
Last week, from June 25th to the 28th, students meet to attend this year's Southern Health Careers Camp in Platteville, Wisconsin.
The Platteville based Health Career Camp gave students an up-close look at healthcare careers. We work with Grant Regional and Southwest Healthcare systems, as well as, UW-Platteville and Southwest Technical College to give students a realistic look at the careers and educational options to reach those future healthcare careers. Students participated in hands-on experiences including multiple job shadows, simulation labs, tours of college campuses, and participated in evening activities during this residential camp experience.
