La Crosse Health Careers Camp 2017

Each year our regional health career camps provide students with an up-close look into a variety of health careers in rural and underserved areas. We work with healthcare organizations and post-secondary educational institutions, across our service region, to provide students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experiences, job shadow, visit simulation labs, and tour college campuses.

Last week, from June 18th to the 22nd, students meet to attend this year's Northern Health Careers Camp in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The camp is designed for high school students interested in a future career in healthcare. We work with Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Vernon Memorial Healthcare, and Gundersen Healthcare System, as well as UW-La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Western Technical College to give students a realistic look at the careers and educational options.

Throughout the week, students participated in hands-on experiences including multiple job shadows, simulation labs, tours of college campuses, as well as evening activities during this residential camp experience.

Check out what the students were able to experience each day!
