We look to bring as much real life exposure to as many students possible. By teaming up with local high schools, we provide students with hands on experiences, that can include visits to healthcare facilitates in the area we serve.
Hands on Health Days start with students meeting with healthcare professionals for an individual job shadow to explore a variety of healthcare careers. Students then participate in healthcare simulations in the world class simulation labs at the Integrated Center for Education (ICE House) at Gundersen. Simulations include arthroscopic surgery, CPR, intubation and vital signs. The day ends with lunch and an overview of the resources available through Scenic Rivers AHEC.
For this day, students from Cashton, Brookwood and West Salem High Schools participated.
