High School: Rice Lake, WI
College: University of Platteville, WI with two majors in ACS Biochemistry and Biology
What would you like to do in healthcare?
I am in a Pre-Medicine Program and hope to attend medical school, eventually practicing and doing research in infectious disease and immunology.
What was your first AHEC experience?
I became familiar with AHEC when I was accepted for a Rural and Urban Scholars in Community Health internship, and then participated in the AHEC Interprofessional Case Competition and placed third.
What other AHEC programming have you utilized or plan to participate in?
I hope to obtain a CHIP position this summer in a community public health position.
What advice would you give to younger students starting to navigate their future in a health care career?
I would advise younger students to not feel limited in your pursuits, but also to do what actually makes you happy. Also, take advantage of the random opportunities that come up as you never know the great places they could lead you.
