Where are you originally from?

Born and raised in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota

Luther College,  Degree in Athletic Training

University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, Physical Therapy Program

What was your first experience with AHEC and what did you learn from it?

My first experience was participating in the Interprofessional Case Competition in Wisconsin Dells. I learned a lot about the importance of being able to work with a variety of professions and individuals from a variety of backgrounds while striving toward a common goal. In addition, this experience provided several opportunities to network with other professionals.

Did you continue to participate in any AHEC programs such as camp counselor, AHEC alumni or AHEConnect?

I have just began participating in both the AHEC alumni and mentor programs. I am looking forward to aiding healthcare students as they being their professional journeys.

What advice would you give to younger students starting to navigate their future in a health care career?

Be willing to try experiences that put you outside your comfort zone. These situations will force you to think critically and allow for accurate self assessment. There is so much more to healthcare than what you find in your textbook.
