Exploratory Surgery: De Soto, G-E-T, Holmen, Independence, Onalaska and Tomah
On April 23rd, students from De Soto, G-E-T, Holmen, Independence, Onalaska and Tomah participated in an exploratory surgery event. Students were able to view a surgery via live stream video and interacted with the surgical staff. Scenic Rivers AHEC has partnered with Gundersen Health System Integrated Center for Education to host our biannual Pathways Health Careers Exploration event. On March 31st, Scenic Rivers hosted an interprofessional education workshop for students in the AHEC Scholars program. During the workshop, students participated in a Pictionary learning activity and an interprofessional Escape Room. Pictionay was a great activity to help students identify ways to communicate their roles and responsibilities to patients, families and other health care professionals.
