The Iowa Cancer Summit was held on October 18th in Ankeny, Iowa. It is Iowa's only state-wide comprehensive cancer control conference that connects health educators, health professionals, and other cancer advocates to network and exchange best practices in cancer prevention, screening, treatment and survivorship. We look to give students as much real-life exposure as we can for each on of our programs. By teaming up with local health organization such as Gundersen for Hands on Health Days, students get to meet with healthcare professionals for individual job shadows. From there students get to see simulations in the world class simulation labs at the Integrated Center for Education (ICE House) on the Gundersen La Crosse campus.
