PATCH Symposium
The inaugural PATCH for Providers Symposium brought teens and health care professionals from across the state of Wisconsin together to explore, in depth, the sensitive health topics affecting teens today and best practices in providing care for adolescent patients. Iowa HPV and Cancer Conference
This year's Iowa HPV and Cancer Conference was held on May 16th in Ankeny, Iowa. The conference brought together health professionals from all across the state of Iowa to discuss HPV and the importance of making a strong provider recommendation; policy; health disparities; tools and resources; cancer screening and co-testing, as well as inspiring survivor stories. Exploratory Surgery Day
Twelve students from six different high schools within the Scenic Rivers AHEC region visited Gundersen Lutheran yesterday. During their visit, they were able to view a live surgery and interact with the surgical staff. Following the surgery, students participated in surgery related simulations such as laparoscopic surgery, pre and post operation care, anesthesiology, and suturing.
