Mission Statement for Scenic Rivers AHEC
The Scenic Rivers Area Health Education Center (SRAHEC) is a federally-authorized regional organization that seeks to create and facilitate educational opportunities for students and professionals emphasizing rural and underserved communities.

The four focus areas for all Wisconsin AHEC centers are:
1. Distribution and Primary Care
2. Diversity
3. Quality and Infrastructure
4. Health Disparities and Access
Within in these for focus areas, each center sets strategic programming.

Scenic Rivers AHEC Goals
1. Establish and maintain an Area Health Education Center in the region.
2. Further community-based, client-oriented, culturally relevant, collaborative education about health professions
3. Promote the development of health professions education emphasizing primary care and interdisciplinary approaches to meet the needs of underserved populations and communities
4. Assess and define barriers to access to care
5. Inform, facilitate and convene groups and individuals to address access to care barriers
6. Organize and broker resources to inprove access to care
7. Foster cooperation, collaboration and partnerships among health professionals, educational institutions and communities
8. Facilitate training of health care professionals that emphasizes cultural competency and responsiveness
9. Provide for evaluation of the effectiveness of health education programs and training
